Wheel alignment
Test requirements:
? Establish running gear version from vehicle data sticker.
The vehicle data sticker can be found in the spare wheel recess and in the service booklet.
1BA = Standard running gear
1BG = Standard running gear with self-levelling suspension
1BE = Sports running gear
? The test equipment must be properly adjusted and attached to the vehicle (see equipment manufacturer's instructions).
? Tread depth difference of no more than 2 mm on an axle.
? Tyres inflated to specified pressure.
? Ensure that the sliding plates and turntables are not touching the end stop when checking the alignment.
? Vehicle unladen 1)
1) "Unladen" means: the weight of the vehicle ready for the road (fuel tank completely filled, spare wheel, vehicle tools and vehicle jack).
? Vehicle accurately aligned, bounced several times and allowed to settle
? Check suspension, steering and steering linkage for excessive play and damage.

Note:
On account of different wheel alignment platforms, it may be necessary to raise front axle of vehicle for insertion of spacer gauge -V.A.G 1925-. Bounce vehicle after lowering it.
? ? Insert spacer gauge -V.A.G 1925- with adapters - V.A.G 1925/3 or V.A.G 1925/4- and screw out the two threaded stems
? . . . until they just make contact with the front bolts -arrow- of the subframe.
This must not cause the vehicle to be raised.
Vehicle is now in initial position.
? On vehicles with adaptive suspension, switch on ignition and wait for completion of vehicle height regulation process.
